A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE INDIAN RUN MEADOWS/POST ROAD FOOTBRIDGE
AND TRAIL PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID PROJECT
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Indian Run
Meadows/Post Road Footbridge and Trail Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by Shaw &Holter in
the amount of $166,445.00 constitutes the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2008 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THERE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The base bid submitted by Shaw &Holter in the amount of $166,445.00
be, and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for said
project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the
Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution 68-08, Indian Run Meadows/Post Road Footbridge and Trail Project
Summary
On Thursday, September 4, 2008 the bids were opened for the Indian Run Meadows/Post Road
Footbridge and Trail Project. The budget for this project is $130,000. The funds for this project
are included in the 2008 Capital Improvements Program. The estimate for this project was
$173,400. The preliminary budget estimate was based upon a bridge span much shorter than the
final design required. The additional funds are available within the Parks 2008 CIP budget due
to other projects coming in below the budget allowance.
Four (4) bids were received for the project:
Base Bid
Shaw &Holter $166,445.00
Dumar Hutson Paving $215,950.00
McDaniels Construction Corp $193,953.61
Complete General Construction $239,000.00
This project consists of the installation of a bikepath, prefabricated pedestrian bridge and
associated earthwork. Once completed, this project will provide abikepath/pedestrian connection
from the Indian Run Meadows Park bikepath to the Post Road bikepath. Complete construction
details are available for review in the Council planning room.
Staff has checked references for Shaw &Holter and has found their references to be satisfactory.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 68-08, accepting Shaw & Holter's base bid of
$166,445.
