Program Summary In order to assist local law enforcement agencies in presenting the D.A.R.E. program, the state Attorney General's Office is once again offering matching grant funds. These funds are specifically earmarked for D.A.R.E. officers' salaries to those agencies that teach the approved curriculum. The City is hopeful of receiving $36,000 in funds from the Attorney General's office. It is important to note that these funds do not require the City to hire additional personnel, but will enhance the program support. Although the City is required to match these funds, the overall personnel costs to deliver the program will be reduced. Recommendation Staff recommends approval of Resolution 55-08 in support of the grant application.
