A RESOLUTION DECLARING CERTAIN CITY-OWNED
PROPERTY AS SURPLUS AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY
MANAGER TO DISPOSE OF SAID PROPERTY IN
ACCORDANCE WITH OHIO REVISED CODE SECTION 721.15
WHEREAS, the City of Dublin from time to time has certain property, fleet and
equipment assets that have reached the limit of useful life for City purposes;
and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the City should maximize the return
on its investment by selling these assets; and
WHEREAS, it has been determined that Internet auction is a method through
which the City may dispose of said assets.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The property listed in the attached Exhibit "A" is hereby determined
to no longer be useful for City purposes.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to dispose of said property
in a manner consistent with the Ohio Revised Code Section 721.15.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(x) of the Revised Charter.

RE: Resolution 32-08 -Authorizing the City Manager to Dispose of Certain
Property Declared as Surplus
Summary
Resolution 32-08 authorizes the City Manager to dispose of various equipment determined to no longer
be useful to the City. Section 37.08 of the Dublin Codified Ordinances requires City Council
authorization for disposal of all motor vehicles or other property valued at $5,000 or more. Motor
vehicles which staff has identified for disposal are listed on Exhibit A.
These vehicles and equipment will be sold by Internet auction, as authorized by Section 37.08. If this
resolution is approved, bidding will open as soon as practicable after May 19 and will remain open the
required minimum of two weeks. This information will be posted on the City of Dublin website, along
with a link to take customers directly to the auction website at www.GovDeals.com.
Under the terms of the City's agreement with GovDeals, the City will pay a commission to GovDeals of
7.5 percent of sale proceeds; however, the City will incur no cost unless the items are sold. The
GovDeals site is well known among public entities, and ideally will provide a much broader pool of
prospective buyers for City surplus items.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending passage of Resolution 32-08.
