27-08 ResolutionRECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Inc ,Form No 30045 1 1 27-08 Resolution No. Passed , 20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR REPLACING THE ROOF AT THE DUBLIN ARTS CENTER, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES. WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Kremer Roofing, Inc. in the amount of $270,234 constitutes the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFOj€, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~_ of the elected members concurring that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Kremer Roofing, Inc. in the total amount of $270,234 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Kremer Roofing, Inc. for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents. Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter. Crandall, Director of Administrative Services Memo RE: Resolution 27-08, Accepting the Lowest and Best Bid for Replacing the Roof at the Dublin Arts Center Siumnarv On Monday, March 21, 2008 bids were opened for the replacement of the Dublin Arts Center roof. The current clay file roof «~as installed as part of the original construction of the building in the early 1940's. The Ludowici Roof Tile Co., based in New Lexington, supplied the original file and will also supply the new tile, making every effort to match the color and form. This file is very durable and will carry a 75-year warranty. The total amount budgeted for this project is $280,000. Three bids were received with the lowest and best bid being submitted by Kremer Roofing, Inc. located in Versailles. The architects have reviewed Kremer's bid and references and determined that they have the skill and experience to install the clay file roof. Company Bid Kremer Roofing, Inc. $270,234 Midstate Contractors, Inc. $291,835 Renaissance Roofing $331,057 The construction schedule for this project is late Tune until mid-September. The Center will remain open during the project, and City staff will coordinate with the Arts Council to minimize any disruption to their operations. Recommendation Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 27-08 accepting Kremer Roofing, Inc.'s bid of $270,234.
