A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID FOR THE COVENTRY WOODS
BRIDGE AND TRAIL PROJECT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES.
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Coventry
Woods Bridge and Trail Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by D.C.
Byers Company/Ohio Inc. in the amount of $180,000.00 constitutes the lowest
and best bid; and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2008 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The base bid submitted by D.C. Byers Company/Ohio Inc. in the
amount of $180,000.00 be, and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents
on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

On ~?Vednesday, February O&, 2008 the bids were opened for the Coventry Woods Bridge and
Trail Project. The budget for this project is $250,000. The funds for this project are included in
the 2008 Capital Improvements Program. The estimate for this project was $195,000.
Five (5) bids were received:
Base Bid
Law General Contracting $188,778.77
Shaw &:. Holter $183,327.00
D.C. Byers Company/Ohio Inc. $180,000.00
The Righter Company, Inc. $247,900.00
Tinkler Constriction Co. $207,000.00
This project consists of an asphalt bikepath and footbridge that «~•ill link the ~~'oods of Indian
Run subdivision to the Coventry Woods bikepath. Complete construction details are available for
review in the Council Planning room.
Staff has checked references for D.C. Byers Company/Ohio Inc. and has found their references
to be satisfactory.
Reconmiendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 07-08, accepting D.C. Byers CompanylOhio
Inc.'s bid of $180,000.
