A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST
AND BEST BID FOR THE POST ROAD
BOOSTER STATION IMPROVEMENTS
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter and Chapter 37 of
the Dublin Code for the Post Road Booster Station Improvements project; and
WHEREAS, on November 15, 2011, three (3) bids were received for the Post
Road Booster Station Improvements project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Peterson
Construction Company constitutes the lowest and best bid.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
_' - 7 of its elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The bid submitted by Peterson Construction Company in the total
amount of $332,000.00 is accepted.
Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with
Peterson Construction Company for performance and completion of the Post
Road Booster Station Improvements project pursuant to the Advertisement,
Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the
City Engineer.
Section 3 . This Resolution shall be effective upon passage in accordance with
Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

Re: Resolution No. 60 -11 - Post Road Booster Station Improvements Bid
Acceptance
Summary
On November 15, 2011, three bids were received, opened, and publicly read by Engineering staff
for the Post Road Booster Station Improvement project. This project includes the installation of
three new pump motors, three new pumps and various electrical and painting upgrades to the
existing Post Road Booster Station. The Post Road booster station supplies both the Darree Fields
and Avery Road elevated water storage tanks in the Post Pressure District. The project is
scheduled to be completed by May 25, 2012. For Council's reference, a reduced set of project
construction drawings has been placed in the Council Planning Room.
The Engineer's estimate for this project was $400,000. Funding of $580,000 for project AW0604
was programmed in the Water Fund, as documented in the 2011 -2015 Capital Improvements
Program. Peterson Construction Company submitted the lowest and best bid of $332,000. A
summary of the bids received is provided below.

Staff has thoroughly reviewed the Peterson Construction Company's bid. Although this contractor
has not previously worked for the City of Dublin, they did provide a listing of similar projects. Staff
has contacted representatives of these projects and received favorable references.
Recommendation
Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution 60 -11, accepting Peterson Construction
Company's bid as the lowest and best bid in the amount of $332,000, and authorizing the City
Manager to enter into a contract with Peterson Construction Company for this project.
