Fon No 34045 Resolution No. 59-11 Passed 20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE HUTCHINS BIKE PATH PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES. WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Hutchins Bike Path Project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of $127,841.00 submitted by Janco LLC is the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, the funds for this project are included in the CIP budget in the amount of $275,000; and WHEREAS, this is an approved 2011 CIP project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, r of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1 . The base bid in the amount of $127,841.00 submitted by Janco LLC is hereby accepted. Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space. Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter. Nine bids were received: Law General Contracting Inc. Columbus Asphalt Paving, Inc. Park Enterprise Construction Co., Inc. Cox Paving, Inc. McDaniel's Construction Corp., Inc. Shaw & Holter, Inc. Jess Construction, Inc. Republic Builders LLC Janco LLC The funds for this project are included estimate for this project was $171,500. amount of $127,841. The base bid The lowest and best bid was submitted by Janco LLC in the The project consists of all materials and labor necessary for the construction of a multi - purpose path, bridge, fencing, landscaping and site amenities. Complete construction details are available for review in the Council Planning Room. The project will provide a multi - purpose path that will connect Wedgewood Hills Park to the interior of Hutchins Park. Staff is currently evaluating the merits and feasibility of continuing the path out to Riverside Drive. In addition to the base, bid there are also owner - provided materials, including retractable bollards, a bike rack, picnic table and benches in the amount of $8,263. Recommendation Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 59 -11, accepting Janco LLC's base bid of $127,841. Janco LLC has done work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be most satisfactory.
