Form No, 3000.5 Resolution No 55 -11 Passed .20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE DUBLIN COMMUNITY POOL NORTH SPRAY PARK PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES. WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Dublin Community Pool North Spray Park Project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid in the amount of $218,635.00 plus the drain and strainer basket replacement in the amount of $2,620.00 for a total amount of $221,255.00 submitted by Janco LLC constitutes the lowest and best bid; and WHEREAS, this is an approved 2011 CIP project. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1 . The base bid in the amount of $218,635.00 plus the drain and strainer basket replacement in the amount of $2,620 for a total amount of $221,255 submitted by Janco LLC is hereby accepted. Section 2 . The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space. Section 3 . This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter. Four bids were received as listed below: Base Bid Thomas & Marker $380,200.00 McDaniel's Construction Corp $358,100.00 Brookside Construction Services $230,845.00 ]anco LLC $218,635.00 The funds for this project are included in the CIP budget in the amount of $525,000. The base bid estimate for this project was $316,047. The lowest and best bid was submitted by ]anco LLC in the amount of $218,635. The project consist of materials, equipment and labor for demolition of the existing Dublin Community Pool North spray park, construction of a new above ground mechanical building, a new spray park, and grading. Complete construction details are available for review in the Council Planning room. In addition to the base bid, staff is recommending a replacement drain with PVC perforated strainer basket in the amount of $2,620. There are also owner - provided materials for the project, including spray equipment and pump house equipment at an approximate cost of $122,000. This past spring, the purchase and installation of bike racks was completed at a cost of $10,112. 7anco LLC has done work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be most satisfactory. Recommendation Staff recommends adoption of Resolution 55 -11, accepting 7anco LLC's base bid of $218,635 plus the drain and strainer basket replacement in the amount of $2,620 for a total amount of $221,255.
