I WHEREAS, the City of Dublin and the Dublin Division of Police have supported the
: school district in its efforts to fight drug and alcohol abuse by providing trained Police
!I Officers to the school district to teach and administer the D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse
II Resistance Education) program; and

II WHEREAS, this extraordinary financial commitment on the part of the City and the
ii Division of Police has provided the district with an enthusiastic drug and alcohol
,I resistance education team.

!i NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
Ii of Ohio, 7 of the elected members concurring:

:1 Section 1. The City of Dublin officially endorses the Dublin Police Division's grant
,.11 request to the Ohio Attorney General for funding to offset the cost of cqntinuing a fourth
i full-time D.A.R.E. Officer to service the school district's ever-growing student
!I population; and
II
:! Section 2. The City of Dublin is committed to continuation of the D.A.R.E. program and
:1 would welcome the grant funding provided to the Dublin Division of Police from the Ohio
:i Attorney General on behalf of the students of Dublin City Schools.

,i Section 3. This resolution is effective upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of
II the Revised Charter.
