Subject: Adoption of Tax Rates
Date: September 10, 1996
Initiated by: Marsha I. Grigsby, Director of Finance '~~
Ordinance 90-96 accepts the amounts and tax rates as determined by the budget commission. The
rates have been reviewed and they are correct. The City's property tax rates for tax year 1996
(collection year 1997) are the same as they have been the last two (2) years.
Section 5705.34 of the Ohio Revised Code requires that each taxing authority, by ordinance or
resolution, shall authorize the necessary tax levies and certify them to the county auditor before the
first day of October in each year. It is necessary to waive the public hearing and pass the Ordinance
as an emergency in order to have the information filed before October 1 as required by the Ohio
Revised Code.
