THE OHIO REVISED CODE Ii " I; Ii WHEREAS, a petition for the annexation of 140+/- acres from Jerome Township was !i duly filed on January 19, 2001 by Harrison W. Smith, Jr., 37 W. Broad Street, Suite 725, ii Columbus, Ohio 43215, Agent for Petitioners Norman L. Malik, et al.; and , I: WHEREAS, a public hearing has been scheduled before the Union County Commissioners on Monday, April 9, 2001 at 2:00 p.m.; and 'i WHEREAS, Section 709.031 of the Ohio Revised Code requires that, prior to the hearing It of the annexation petition, the Municipal Authority shall adopt a statement indicating what , services, if any, the Municipal Corporation will provide to the territory proposed for !i Ii annexation; and il II Ii WHEREAS, the area proposed for annexation lies within Dublin's exclusive water and :1 sewer service extension area, as provided under the agreements with the City of Columbus; Ii and II II WHEREAS, the proposed annexation is in conformance with the annexation strategy II contained in the Dublin Community Plan, adopted by Council on November 17, 1997. d Ii Ii NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State II of Ohio, :1..- of the members concurring that: " :1 'I Section 1. The City of Dublin will provide the following municipal services for the 140+/- " :: acres in Jerome Township, Union County upon the annexation of the area to the City of j Dublin, Ohio: " Ii 'I Police. The City provides Police and Communications service on a full twenty- Ij Ii four hour basis and also has mutual aid agreements with other municipalities. The II annexation area lies approximately 3-1/2 miles northwest of Dublin Police Division II 11 'I headquarters. Dublin operates with a minimum of four cruisers on duty. A " 'I response time of approximately four minutes for an emergency situation should be i, ii expected for this area. I: ii Ii " Fire. Fire and emergency medical services protection is currently provided by I, II well-staffed departments in Jerome and Washington townships. They, too, have :I mutual aid agreements with other municipalities. This annexation would not !I " change fire department jurisdictional boundaries, and therefore response times for " Ii fire and emergency medical services will not be affected. The Jerome Township il "'~ Ii Fire Station is located approximately 3 miles from the annexation area, and normal Ii II response time would be approximately eight minutes. However, due to an existing " . il automatic response agreement, the area is also served by the Washington Township I' Fire Station 93 which is located approximately 2 miles to the southeast, and normal II response time would be approximately three minutes. II Sanitation. Residential refuse collection services are contracted by the City and are currently provided at no additional charge. I, I i I I I ! Smith, Jr., Agent for the Petitioners, and praying for annexation to the City of Dublin, Ohio in the Township of Jerome; And Whereas, said petition represents real estate situated in Union County, Ohio, being a total of 140 acres, more or less, and being adjacent to and contiguous with the City of Dublin. There are 4 owners of real estate in the territory sought to be annexed to the City of Dublin, Ohio.
