A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ACCEPT THE DONATION OF A .96 ACRE PARCEL
OF LAND LOCATED AT 5359 POST ROAD FROM THE
CONTINENTAL REAL ESTATE COMPANY
WHEREAS, a goal of the Dublin City Council is to acquire undeveloped land for public
purposes; and
WHEREAS, the Continental Real Estate Company has notified the City of Dublin of their
desire to donate a ,96 acre parcel of land located at 5359 Post Road, as depicted on the
attached Exhibit, to the City; and
WHEREAS, the City desires to accept the donation from the Continental Real Estate
Company; and
WHEREAS, the City's acceptance of the donation will be contingent upon acceptable
results, as determined by the City, from a Phase I Environment Site Assessment.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of
Ohio, '1 of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1, The City Manager is hereby authorized to execute any necessary closing
documents related to the donation of 5359 Post Road from the Continental Real Estate
Company to the City and to pay related closing costs,
Section 2, This Resolution shall take effect and be in force in accordance with Section
4,04(a) of the Dublin City Charter.

Re: Resolution No 13-03, A Resolution To Accept The Donation of Land
SUMMARY:
City staff was approached by a representative from the Continental Real Estate Company about their
desire to donate a property they own, 5359 Post Road, to the City of Dublin. As stated in the
Resolution, the property is a .96 acre tract of land. The property is on the south side of Post Road, just
west of the Post Road bridge.
The City will have a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment completed prior to the acceptance of the
donation. The acceptance of the donation will be contingent upon acceptable results, as determined by
the City, of the Environmental Site Assessment.
There is a vacant house located on the site that will be demolished by the City after acceptance of the
property. The demolition costs will range from $5,000 to $10,000. The City will work with
Washington Township to evaluate the possibility ofbuming the structure for training purposes.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends adoption of Resolution No 13-03 at the March 3,2003 City Council meeting.
