A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND
BEST BID AND ALTERNATES #1 AND #3 FOR THE
INDIAN RUN FALLS PARK PROJECT, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER
INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES.
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids on Tuesday, November 15,
2005 for the Indian Run Falls Park Project, Council has determined that the
base bid submitted by The Nadalin Company in the amount of $440,000 is
the lowest and best bid for the project; and
WHEREAS, staff further recommends acceptance of bid alternate #1 for
$11,000 and bid alternate #3 for $9,000 as submitted by The Nadalin
Company, using the recycled deck material for both alternates; and
WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2005 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring that:
Section 1. The Nadalin Company's base bid in the amount of $440,000, bid
alternate #1 for $11,000 and bid alternate #3 for $9,000, using the recycled deck
material for both alternates for the Indian Run Falls Park Project are hereby
accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
the project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's
bid documents on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revised Charter.

RE: Resolution No. 74-05 Indian Run Falls Park Project
Summary
On Tuesday, November 15, 2005 bids were opened for the Indian Run Falls Park Project. The budgeted
amount for this project is $536,000.00 with the final bid estimate of $448,000.00. Total encumbrances to
date are $48,335.00.

This project consists of a porous concrete parking lot, two shelters, two entry plazas, pedestrian bridge, trail
improvements, several overlooks and associated landscape installation. Bid alternate #1 consists of material
and labor for an additional overlook deck; bid alternate #2 consists of a deduction based on total material and
labor for pressure treated Southern Yellow Pine decking (a substitute for a composite material made of
-- recycled wood and plastic) on overlook boardwalk and staircase structures; and bid alternate #3 consists of
total material and labor for an additional section of boardwalk. Complete construction details are available
for review in the Council Planning room.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution No. 74-05, accepting The Nadalin Company's base bid in the
amount of $440,000.00 and authorizing the City Manager to enter into contract with The Nadalin Company
for this project. In addition staff is recommending acceptance of bid alternates #1 for $11,000.00 and #3 for
$9,000.00 using the recycled deck material for both alternates. The Nadalin Company has done previous
work for the City of Dublin and staff has found their work to be satisfactory.
