VnffiREAS: the Village is in need of a new Police Cruiser; C NaN, THEREFOR, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the Village of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: SECTION 1. That the Village Administrator be, and he hereby is, authorized and direoted to advertise for bids for a new Police Cruiser, having the following specifications: The Cruiser shall be a new 1975 model, four door sedan. Wheel base not less I than 119.0 inches. Color is hereby specified, and shall be white. SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY: FRONT: heavy duty springs, cushions and backs, cushions to have foam rubber pads, heavy duty arms for support of seat backs(Fleet mode not acceptable). REAR: Standard as supplied for current models. Covering Material: Nylon oloth with vinyl trim, colors to harmonize. Color selection information to be furnished with bids. ENGINE: Shall be V-8 not less than 400 oubio inohes, nor less than 160 H.P. net, four-barrel carbeurator, dual exhausts, replacable dry element type air cleaner and full flow oil filter. Top speed capability must be at least 120 MPH, as delivered. ~ ~ . ~. FUEL SYSTEM: The fuel system shall consist of a gasoline tank, capacity not less than 20 gallons and a meohanical fuel pump shall be furnished. C TRANS1ITSSION: Shall be the Hydro-matio, Cruise-o-matio, Torque Flite or equal 3 speed automatio. AXLES: The front wheel suspension and rear axles are to be of sturdy oonst- ruction and capable of sustaining the total gross load at ground without evidence of overloadings. The rear axles shall be of the bevel gear hypoid type and of such design and construction as to be oapable of transmitting to the driving wheels the full torque of the engine, as developed through the highest numerical gear reduotion provided in the transmission. The gear ratio shall be as recommended by the manufacturer and shall be listed with the bid. { ~ ~~\, <. One spare tire and wheel shall be provided with the vehicle. WHEElS AND BRAKES: Shall be 15 inch wheels with power brakes, Front wheels to be disc type brakes. SPRINGS AND SHOCK ABSORBERS: Shall be equipped with heavy duty front and rear suspension, heavy duty front and rear shock absorbers, and heavy duty stabil- izer bar. ELECTRICAL EQUIP~~NT: The generator shall be an Alternator system with ~eter Shall be heavy duty 60 to 65 ampere output and with high output at idling speed. The system shall be oomplete with transistorized voltage regulator. n Battery shall be not less than 70 amps. Shall be equipped with radio noise L.J suppression equipment, whioh shall include suppression type spark plugs, wirin! , bonding straps, etc. AIR CONDITIONING: Shall be factory installed with vented outlets in the instrument panel. Shall have an acceptable automatic control to out the air oonditioners compression off when speed of vehiole reaches and exoeeds , 75 l~I, or an acceptable compressor designed and warranted for high speed operat ion. LIGHTS: The lighting equipment shall be manufaoturers standard. n All items required by the Federal Safety Regulations shall be furnished. ACCESSORIES: Aocessories as listed shall be installed: 1. Deluxe steering wheel 2. Outside mirror, remote control, not to interfere with spotlight 3. Left hand spotlight, pillar mounted # 225 Unity or equal. 4. Conventional radio speaker factory mounted installed with 24" lead-in wire. 5. Front and rear heavy duty floor mats, factory installed. 6. Speoial certified police calibrated speedometer with 2 M.P.H. graduations. 7. Heavy duty police type radiator. 8. Manual remote control trunk compartment lock release or approved equal, with unlocking lever located within immediate reach of driver. 9. High strength windshield glass, all windows shall have tinted glass. ~O. Illuminated trunk light, automatic actuation when trunk is opened. 11. Shall be equipped with rear window de-fogger, blower type. 12. Addt'nl dome light over center of front seat, having a seperate switoh. 3. One manual control throttle or fast idle devioe. 14. Visible oil & temp. gauges (opposed to red light type) 15. Three switches mounted on a plate installed in the space provided for installation of a commercial radio. Two way switches with 36" of 12 gauge lead-in wire to each mvitoh. 16. One solenoid to activate siren, with 36" of 6 guage lead-in wire. Delivery date is to be specified in the bids. n All bids shall be sealed and shall be filed with the Village Administrator, Village of Dublin, Ohio before 12 :00 Noon _~.) ~ r4f1~ at whioh time said bids shall be opened. kll bids shall be ac~ompanied by bond or oertified cheok in the amount of $ 100.00. The Council of the Village of Dublin reserves the right to reject any and all bids. SECTION 2. That this Ordinanoe be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public health and safety for the reason that a new Cruiser is presently needed to protect the health and safety of the residents of the Village, and this Ordinanoe shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage.
