AN ORDINANCE TO ESTABLISH HOURS OF
WORK, RATES OF PAY, AND OTHER BENE-
FITS FOR ALL EMPLOYEES OF THE POLICE
DEPARTMENT, OF THE VILLAGE OF DUBLIN,

BE IT ORDAINED BY the Council of the Village of Dub1 in, State of
Ohio t; of the elected members concurring:
SECTION 1. That full-time Pol ice Officers of the Village will
be paid an annual salary according to the following schedules ( inDo 11 a rs) :

When a police officer is confirmed by Council, Council may in the
Ordinance confirming the appointment give credit to the officer for prior ser-
vice to another law enforcement agency. As used in the above schedu I e "yea rs.
shall mean years of service to the Village as a fu1 I-time police officer plus
credit for prior service to another law enforcement agency or prior part-
time service to the Village of Dubl in. In such case the confirmation ordi-
nanee shall state the number of years and/or months of prior service which
Ie shall be credited to the officer for purposes of determining his salary under
the above Schedule.

I SECTION 2. That the Clerk-Treasurer shal I in further considera-

! tion of their services to the Village, pay the full premium of a basic medical
and hospital ization insurance policy for the benefit of all full-time em-
ployees of the Police Department.
SECTION 3. That vacations with pay for fu1 I-time employees of

the Police Department will be granted on the anniversary of hire, unless
otherwise approved by the Mayor in the case of Police D~partment Employees. 0
Vacations must be taken within 12 months following accrua1~ unless other
arrangements are made with the approval of the Mayor in the case of the
Pol ice Department Employees. Vacation periods shall be as fo 11 ows:
Two calendar weeks per year for one year through nine years of
service. Three calendar weeks per year for ten years through
nineteen years of service. Four calendar weeks per year after
twenty years of service.
SECTION 4. All full-time police officers shall be paid in equal
semi-monthly installments on the fifteenth and last day of each month.
SECTION 5. All Police Officers shall further be entitled to
sick leave with pay, but not to exceed one and one-half days times the num-
ber of months of his service to the Village; provided, however, that said
officer may accumulate unused sick leave up to a maximum of one hundred
twenty (120) days. Sick leave shall not be allowed for a period of three (3) 0
or more days unless the Employee furnishes a satisfactory statement signed
by a Physician showing that due to injury or illness the employee was not
able to perform his duties on the days in question; provided, however, that
the Chief of Pol ice or the Mayor, in their sole discretion, may require such
a statement in any case in which he deems it advisable. Such statement shal
be furnished to the Chief of Police or the Mayor.
SECTI ON 6. All Police Officers shall be subject to call 24
hours a day, ~h~ the minimum work week for all Police Officers shall be 40
hours per week.
SECTION 7. That all prior ordinances or parts of ordinances in
consistent herewith are superseded by this Ordinance.
SECTION 8. That this Ordinance shall go into force and effect

upon its passage.
