AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING
A POLICE CHIEF. FOR THE ' ,

WHEREAS, ,Chief Harold Rose has infonned the Village of DUblin " Ohio I

~ of his intention to retire as Chief:6f Police thereby necessitating the: appoint
ment of a nelv Chief of Police; and J

WHEREAS, the Mayor has appointed, for a ~ix(6) month probationary ,

WHEREAS, The COtulcil of t~e Village of Dubliii~ 'Ohio~' ~1~ of the opinion
that said ~8EI?T F 1111 ~ is a sui table person for such
appointment:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin, I

State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
SECTION 1. That the six (6) 'month probationary, appointment of
lJ 7(G9C,.(lT F //AYE~ as Chief of Police of the Village of Dublin, Ohio
be, and it is hereby, confinned.
SECTION 2. That the said 7?oge~T r:: /tAYER has agreed

in lvriting to assume the duties as said Chief of Police on September 1, 1974; I
and, further, has agreed to abide by all the provisions of Ordinance 16-73
relating to hours of work and other benefits of the Police Department of the
Village of Dublin with the exception that said Ordinance be,arid it is hereby,
amended to read that the annual salary of the said Chief of Police is set at
$11000.00 per,year.
SECTION 3. That this appointment is, to continue as probationary tultil '
such time as ~8~i1r F 1/;4 'IER is either finally appointed and

confinned or tultil he is suspended or remOved from office according to law.
- , SECTION 4. That this ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to

~ be an emergency measure necessary for the irrrnediatepreservat~onof the
",. public peace and safety for the reason that the Village has an irrrnediate
need for a Chief of Police, and that thi'sOrdinance shall' take effect and be
