AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE VILLAGE ADMINISTRATOR TO
ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR A NEW POLICE CRUISER~ LESS TRADE IN ALLrn1ANCE
ON A 1973 CRUISER ~ SETTING FORTH SPECI FICATIONS ~ AND DEttLARING AN
EMERGENCY. .

SECTION 1..That the Village Administrator be" and he hereby is, author-
ized and direoted to advertise for bids for a new Polioe Cruiser having
the following speoifioations:
The Cruiser shall be a new 1974 model~ four door sedan, wheel base not
less than 118 inohes , and the oolor speoified is white.
SEATS AND UPHOLSTERY: Front; heavy duty springs, oushions and backs"
oushions to have foam rubber pads, heavy duty arms for support of seat
baoks( Fleet model not acceptable) Rear: Standard as supplied for ourrent
models. Covering:material: Nylon oloth with vinyl trim" colors to harmonize.
Color selection information to be furnished with bids.
ENGINE: Shall be V-8 not less than 350 cubic inches " nor less than 160
H.P. net. Two or four barrel oarbeurator, dual exhausts, replaoable dry
element type air cleaner and full ~low oil filter. Top speed oapability
must be at least 120 m.p.h. as delivered" using regular fuel.
FUEL SYSTEM: The fuel system shall oonsist of a gasoline tank, oapacity
,..... not less than 20 gallons, and a mechanical fuel pump shall be furnished.
... TRANSMISSION: Shall be the Hydromatio" Cruise-o-matio, Torque Flite or
equal, 3 speed automatio.
AXLES: The front wheel suspension and rear axles are to be of sturdy
oonstruotion and oapable of sustaining the total gross load at ground
without evidenoe of overloadings. The rear axles shall be of the bevel
gear hypoid type and of suoh design and oonstruction as to be capable
of transmitting to the driving wheels the full torque of the engine, as
developed through the highest numerioal gear reduotion provided in the
transmission. The gear ratio shall be as recommended by the manufacturer
and shall be listed with the bid.
TIRES: The tires shall be the manufacturers standard" and one spare tire
and wheel must be furnished with the vehicle.
SPRINGS AND SHOCK ABSORBERS: Shall be equipped with heavy duty front and
rear suspension, heavy duty front and rear shook absorbers, and heavy
duty stabilizer bar.
WHEEL AND BRAKES: Shall be 15 inch wheels with power brakes, Front wheels
to be diso type brakes.
ELECTRICAL EQUI~MENT: The generator shall be an alternator system with
,.. ammeter. Shall be heavy duty 60 to 65 ampere output and with high output

... regula~or. Battery shall not be less than 70 amps. Shall be equipped with
radio noise spppression equipment, which shall include suppression type
spark plugs~ wiring, bonding straps" etc.
STEERING: Steering shall be power steering.
LIGHTS: The lighting equipment shall be manufacturers standard..

AIR CONDITIONER: Shall be factory installed with u:ented outlets in
instrument panel. Shall have an acceptable automatic control to cut
air conditioner compression off when speed of vehicle reaches and
,--. exceeds 75 M.P.H. ~ or an acceptable compressor designed and warranted
- for high speed operation..

All items required by the Federal Safety Regulations shall be furnished.
ACCESSORIES: Those listed below shall be installed.
1. Deluxe steering wheel
2. Remote control outside mirror~ mounted so as not to interfere with spotlight.
3. Left hand spotlight ~ pillar mounted~ # 225 Unity ~ or equal.
4. Conventional radio speaker~factory mounted~i:lil.stalled with 24" lead in wire.
5. Front and rear heavy duty floor mats~ factory installed.
6. Special certified police calibrated speedometer with 2mph graduations.
7. Heavy duty police type radiator.
8. Manual remote control trunk compartment lock release or approved equal
with unlocking lever located near and within easy reach of driver.
9. High strength windshield glass~ all windows shall have tinted glass.
10. Illuminated trunk light~ automatic actuatmon when trunk is opened.
11. Shall be equipped with rear window de-fogger, blower type.
12. Add'tnl dome light over center of front seat~ having a seperate switch.
13. Three switches mounted on a plate~ installed in the space provided for
a commercial radio. Two way switohes with 36" of 12 guage lead in wire
to each switoh.
14. One solenoid to aotivate siren,. with 36" of 6 guage lead in wire.
15. One manual control throttle~ or fast idle devioe.
16. One visible oil guage~ red light type not acceptable.

All bids shall be L5Sg trade allowanoe on a 1973 Plymouth 4 door Fury~ Polioe
.... Pk 4l~ WITH RADIO~ RED LIGttBTS, SIREN, P.A. SYSTEM AND VASCAR, REMOVED. The
delivery date is to be speoified in the bid.
All bids shall be sealed and shall be filed with the Village Administrator,
Village of Dublin, Ohio before 12 :00 Noon E.S.T. h'\~ J.- 1(1'1 'i at whioh time
said bids shall be opened. All bids shall be accompanied by bond or certified
cheok in the amount of $100.00. The Counoil of the Village of Dublin reserves
the right to reject any and all bids.
SECTION 2. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to be an
emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the public
health and safety for the reason that a new cruiser is presently needed to
protect the health and safety of the residents of the Village, and this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediat ly upon it passage.
