Form No. 1097 '''is>' II eld August 8, 1988 T 19 Mayor Close called the special meeting of the Dublin City Council to order at 7:33 P.M. on Monday, August 8, 1988. Members of Council present were: Mr. Amorose, Mayor Close, Mr. Jankowski, and Mr. Rozanski. Ms. Maurer arrived at 7:36 P.M. Mr. Strip and Mr. Sutphen were absent. Mr. Hansley, City Manager, and Mr. Smith, Law Director, were present as were Mr. Bowman, Ms. Jordan and Ms. Prushing of the City Staff. The purpose of the meeting was to consider a request for modification to the Parks and Recreation Department's Capital Improvements Budget. Mr. Rozanski moved to approve the $17,859.00 for the additional one inch of asphalt for paving of the parking lots in the Avery Road Park. Mr. Amorose seconded the motion. Vote - Mr. Amorose, yes; Mayor Close, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes; Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Rozanski, yes. Mr. Amorose moved to approve the expenditure of $4,006.00 for the extra excavation and drainage at Sweney Court. Mr. Jankowski seconded the motion. Vote - Mr. Rozanski, yes; Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes; Mayor Close, yes; Mr. Amorose, yes. Ms. Maurer moved to approve the additional expenditure of $45,277.00 for Llewellyn Farms Park to include alternate #2, one additional tennis court. Mr. Amorose seconded the motion. Vote - Mayor Close, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes; Mr. Rozanski, yes; Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Amorose, yes. Ms. Maurer moved for approval of the expenditure for the Avery Road Park concession stand. Mr. Rozanski seconded the motion. Vote - Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Amorose, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes; Mr. Rozanski, yes; Mayor Close, no. Discussion followed regarding the infiltration of benzene into the wells in certain sections of Old Dublin, and as a result, how the City can assist those persons who need assistance monetarily to tap into the City water system because they are not able to use the water from their wells. Mayor Close moved that the City Manager be granted the authority to advance monies to pay tap-in fees to residents, who may request said advance, who are required to tap into the Dublin water system (Dublin and Columbus tap-in fees, not plumbing fees), signing a note whereby said monies will be paid back to the City of Dublin in six months. The Manager will determine whether a financial need exists. Mr. Rozanski seconded the motion. Vote - Mr. Amorose, yes; Mayor Close, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes; Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Rozanski, yes. Mr. Amorose moved to adjourn to Executive Session for of pending litigation, a peronnel matter and two land Mr. Rozanski seconded the motion.
