July 4, 1988 19 The Special Meeting of the Dublin City Council was called to order by Mayor Michael L. Close at 10:15 A.M. on Monday, July 4, 1988. Mr. Jankowski led the Pledge of Allegiance. Council members present were: Mr. Amorose, Mayor Close, Mr. Jankowski, Ms. Maurer, Mr. Rozanski, Mr. Strip, and Mr. Sutphen. Mr. Timothy Hansley, City Manager, was also present. Ordinance No. 68-88 - Rezoning of 7.785 Acres Located on South Side of S.R. 161, 1700 Feet West of Sawmill Road. First Reading. Mr. Amorose introduced the Ordinance. Mr. Amorose moved to refer the Ordinance to the Planning and Zoning Commission. Mr. Rozanski seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor. Ordinance No. 69-88 - 1988 Street Improvements. First Reading. Mr. Rozanski introduced the Ordinance. The lowest/best bid was from S. E. Johnson Companies, Inc. in the amount of $479,070.03. Mr. Sutphen moved to do away with the three time reading rule and treat as an emergency. Mr. Jankowski seconded the motion. The vote was unanimous in favor of the motion. The vote on the Ordinance was - Mayor Close, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes; Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Strip, yes; Mr. Amorose, yes; Mr. Sutphen, yes; Mr. Rozanski, yes. Resolution No. 14-88 - Request to Establish Sister City Status with Dublin, Ireland. First Reading. Mr. Sutphen introduced the Resolution. Ms. Maurer moved to do away with the three time reading rule and treat as an emergency with the following amendments: 1. Paragraph 1. Change 1000th to one thousandth. 2. Paragraph 3. Change John Shields, to Sir John Shields. 3. Paragraph 4. Add a comma after 19882,,; delete the word "where", and change "has become" to became. 4. Paragraph 5. Add Mr. Harry Bradshaw. 5. Paragraph 6. Delete in the last sentence the words "a visit" and insert the word performances. 6. Section 1. Small letter ~ on word city in first sentence. 7. Section 2. Add Dublin Irish Celebration, Dublin Convention and Visitor's Bureau and the word "Dublin" before "Chamber of Commerce". Mr. Strip seconded the motion. Vote - Mayor Close, yes; Ms. Maurer, yes; Mr. Sutphen, yes; Mr. Rozanski, yes; Mr. Strip, yes; Mr. Jankowski, yes. Mr. Amorose, yes.
