Mr. Kranstuber moved to adopt a resolution supporting the Dublin School district's operating levy.
Mr. Strip seconded the motion, stating that as leaders of the community, he feels Council has a
responsibility to support the levy.
Mr. Zawaly added that the resolution language needs to express "strong support" for the levy.
Mrs. King commented that she feels uncomfortable voting on the issue because it was not included
as an agenda item for this meeting. She would like to know if the school district has requested
support from the other jurisdictions that are a part of the district.
Discussion followed regazding whether or not the School District came to Council with the request
to officially support the levy.
Mr. Campbell stated that he has concerns with the process, but believes this meeting of Council was
properly advertised and that the issue could be considered. He added that this issue is a critical one
which will impact on the economic development of the City.
Mr. Hansley agreed that proper notice was provided to the press for the meeting and he believes it
would be appropriate to vote on the resolution.
Mrs. Boring noted that she feels strongly that a resolution would not be appropriate since it was not
included on today's agenda.
Mrs. Stillwell asked about the possibility of calling a special meeting of Council next week.
Discussion followed about availability of Council members for a special meeting.
Mayor Campbell recommended that a vote on this resolution be considered in a separate meeting.
