HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 33-26RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS BARRETT BROTHERS - DAYTON, OHIO Form 6301 Resolution No.__33-26 Passed. , ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE DUBLIN COMMUNITY RECREATION CENTER PHASE II RENOVATION PROJECT WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Dublin Community Recreation Center Phase IIT Renovation Project WHEREAS, Council has determined the base bid in the amount of $1,543,896.00 submitted by Miles-McClellan Construction to be the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, *]__ of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The base bid in the amount of $1,543,896.00 submitted by Miles- McClellan Construction is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with Miles-McClellan Construction for the performance and completion of the Dublin Community Recreation Center Phase II Renovation Project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said Project on file in the Department of Parks and Recreation. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and complete the work for this Project. This phase focuses on renovating the existing Tallas, Main Hallway Restrooms and Abbey Theater Lobby areas. Attached are renderings of the proposed designs for each area. The improvements are intended to enhance both the functionality and appearance of these well-used spaces while improving accessibility, circulation and overall user experience. Once completed, the renovated areas will provide a more welcoming, modern, and accessible environment for the community and better support the ongoing use of these popular amenities. Although this phase of the renovation focuses on the three identified areas, planning for future improvements and phasing continues. Following a thorough review of all bids received, staff determined that Miles-McClellen Construction’s bid of $1,543,896.00 is the lowest and best bid, approximately 36 percent under the original project cost estimation of $2,400,000. Specifically, the proposed schedule provides for completion of the Abbey Theater Lobby by February 12, 2027, the Main Restrooms by March 16, 2027, and the Tallas Meeting Rooms by March 22, 2027. Recommendation Staff has thoroughly reviewed Miles-McClellan Construction’s bid and determined it to be the lowest and best bid for this project. Staff recommends approval of Resolution 33-26 — Accepting the Lowest and Best Bid for the Dublin Community Recreation Center Phase II Renovation Project and authorizing the City Manager to enter into a contract with Miles-McClellan Construction for this project.
