The 2009 Sidewalk Maintenance Program includes repair of sidewalks along Frantz Road,
Earlington Parkway and the subdivisions of The Reserve; Kerry Glen; and The Woods of Indian
Run.
The majority of the sidewalk repair locations are caused by tree roots heaving the sidewalks. As
apart of the repair process, these roots will be pruned and removed. A few trees that have larger
roots removed in the sidewalk repair process will also have their canopies thinned and trimmed
by Parks and Open Space staff. Engineering works closely with Parks and Open Space
throughout the sidewalk repair process to ensure impact to trees will be minimized where
feasible.
For Council reference and review, the contract documents have been placed in the Council
Conference room.
Staff has thoroughly reviewed the G & G Cement Contractors, LLC bid. Previous experience
with G & G Cement Contractors, LLC has been favorable. Feedback from references were also
favorable.
