AN ORDINANCE TO ACCEPT THE LOWEST/
BEST BID FOR WATERFORD STORM SEWER
IMPROVEMENTS, AUTHORIZING THE
MANAGER AND FINANCE DIRECTOR TO
EXECUTE A CONTRACT: AND DECLARING
AN EMERGENCY.
WHEREAS, pursuant to required advertising, bids have been received for
the Waterford Storm Sewer Improvements and;
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid of Buckeye Valley Contractors
in the amount of $19,200.60 is the lowest/best bid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the Village of Dublin,
State of Ohio, 6 of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid of Buckeye Valley Contractors, Inc.
for the installation of the Waterford Storm Sewer Improvements in
accordance with the specifications presently on file in the office
of the Manager be, and hereby is, accepted.
Section 2. That the Village Manager and Finance Director be and they
hereby are, authorized and directed to execute a contract with
the said Buckeye Valley Contractors, Inc. for the installation of
said storm sewers.
Section 3. That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance
in the Sewer Fund, the sum of $19,200.60 to the account
E02-OS-5S-2560 for sewerline construction to meet the obligations of
this contract.
Section 4. That this Ordinance be, and the same hereby is, declared to
be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public
peace, health and saferv and for the further reason that this proejct
should be initiated at the earliest possible date, and therefore this
Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its
passage.

SUBJECT: Bids on Waterford Storm Sewer Improvements
DATE: February 21, 1986
On Tuesday, February 18, 1986 at 11:00 A.M. I opened bids on the above referenced
project. The bids received are as follows:
1. Buckeye Valley Contractors, Inc. $19,200.60
2. Central Ohio Building Company, Inc. $21,367.95
3. Columbus Asphalt Paving, Inc. $21,743.50
4. S. E. Johnson Companies, Inc. $23,404.86
5. Bale Contracting Inc. $24,370.00
6. The Northwest Conduit Corp. $25,546.50
The engineer's estimate of cost was $26,000.00.
I have reviewed all of the bids and recommend awarding same to Buckeye Valley
Contractors, Inc., being the lowest and best bid at 519,200.60..

I would appreciate it if Council could amend Ordinance #16-86 before
passage to include a section for appropriating the funds fran the
Sewer Fund for expenditure. The suggested warding for appropriating
the funds is as follows:
That there be appropriated from the unappropriated balance in the
Sewer Fund, the sum of $
to the account E02-OS-SS-2560
for Sewerline Construction to meet the obligations of this contract.
Every contract includes a Finance Director's Certificate which
certifies that the funds have been legally appropriated. I would
not be able to ccatplete the certificate without this amendment.
