The regular meeting of the Dublin Village Council was held on 1~y 3,
1965 at the Munioipal Building with 1~yor Lewis Geese presiding.

Minutes of the April 5, 1965 meeting were read. Sheldon moved,
seoonded by Dixon that the minutes be approved as read. Vote thereon
was; Smith, yes; Ulrey, yes; Wacker, absent.
The following bills were submitted for payment:

Vote on the motion was: Smith, yes; Ulrey, yes; .Wacker, absent.
Mr. Robert Karrer of In? s. High St. Dublin was nominated by motion of
Dixon to fill the vacant counoil seat. :Motion seconded by Ulrey. Vote
thereon was: Sheldon, yes; Smith, yes; Wacker, absent.
The clerk read a letter from the secretary of the Washington Local School Board
replying to oouncil's request for negotiations on the prospeot of
trading village land for school land so that the village might build
a larger nnmicipal building. The answer was negative at the present.
The 1~yor appointed an athletic oo~ssion to replace the resigned
athletic director, Riohard Termeer, as follows:Joseph Ryan, Roger
Headlee, Riohard Denny, and Brad Anderson, all of the village.
Ulrey introduoed Ordinanoe 08-65 authorizing the village to enter
into contract for the county wide study of the refuse disposal prob-
lem. Cost of the study to the village to be $30.00. Dixon moved,
seconded by Sheldon to dispense with the three time reading rule due
to the urgenoy of the contract. Vote on the motion was: Karrer, yes;
Smith, yes; Ulrey, yes; Wacker, absent. Vote on the Ordinance: Dixon,
yes; Karrer, yes; Smith, yes;Sheldon, yes; Ulrey, yes; Vfaoker, absent.
Dixon introduced ordinance 09-65 authorizing the village to enter
into oontract with the State Highway Department for the purpose of
relocating water line faoilities in the way of the proposed outerbelt.
Ulrey moved, seconded by Sheldon, to dispense with the three time

reading rule due to the urgenoy of the oontraot. Vote on the motion
was: Dixon, yes; Karrer,yes; Smith, yes; Waoker, absent. Vote on the
ordinanoe was: Dixon, yes; Karrer, yes; Smith, yes; Sheldon, yes;
Ulrey, yes; Waoker, absent.
Sheldon introduced ordinance 10-65 authorizing the village to enter
into contract with the firm of Burgess & Nip1e for the purpose of
obtaining engineering consultation upon need. Dixon moved, seconded
by Ulrey, to dispense with the three time reading rule due to the
need for a village engineer. Vote on the motion was: Karrer, yes;
Smith, yes; Sheldon, yes; 1,lI[acker, absent. Vote on the ordinance was:
Dixon, yes; Karrer, yes; Sheldon, yes; Smith, yes; Ulrey, yes; Wacker,
absent.
H.E. Rose, Street Superintendent, reported to oounoi1 the need for
extensive repairs and rep1aoements on the village storm sewers and
suggested the possibility of the village aquiring a combination
baokhoe - loader mounted on a new traotor that could also replace the
present traotor whioh he reported to be obsolete. Counoil appreciated
the information but decided to withhold any major purchases of this
type until more suitable garage facilities become available.
The clerk was instructed to write to the county engineer and to the
county oommissioners expressing counoil's dis-approva1 of the proposed
closing of Tuttle Road at the outerbelt.
