Re: Ordinance 29-24 – Repealing Sections 32.60 through 32.65 of the Codified
Ordinances of the City of Dublin with Regard to the Establishment of the
Community Services Advisory Commission
Background
As reported at the August 12 Council meeting, staff proposed amendments to establishing
legislation of the advisory committees at the August Administrative Committee meeting. These
amendments serve to bring consistency and alignment to all advisory committees.
Ordinance 29-24
The Community Services Advisory Commission (CSAC) was the only advisory committee created by
Ordinance (Ordinance 17-99) and subsequently added to the Dublin Codified Ordinances (Sections
32.60 – 32.65).
Ordinance 29-24 repeals the applicable code sections for CSAC as well as the establishing
ordinance and any amendments that were brought forward. At the second reading/public hearing
on September 9, a resolution re-establishing CSAC will be brought forward in a consistent manner
with other advisory committees. The new resolution matches Council’s intent for CSAC when it was
created in 1999. Subsequent amendments to the establishing ordinance have been accounted for
in the new resolution as well.
Recommendation
The Administrative Committee, with staff, brings forward this ordinance for first reading and
recommends passage at the second reading/public hearing on September 9, 2024.
