HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 25-24RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS BARRETT BROTHERS - DAYTON, OHIO Form 6301 Resolution No.___25-24 Passed P ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE I-270/33 INTERCHANGE PLANTING RENOVATION PROJECT AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO CONTRACT FOR THE PROJECT WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Revised Charter, for the Dublin Cemetery Site Improvements; and WHEREAS, Council has determined the base bid in’ the amount of $197,972.00 submitted by R&R Lawncare & Landscaping, LLC to be the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, __“/ of the elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by R&R Lawncare & Landscaping, LLC in the total amount of $197,972.00 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with R&R Lawncare & Landscaping, LLC for the performance and completion of the I-270/33 Interchange Planting Renovation Project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said Project on file in the Department of Parks and Recreation. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and complete the work for this Project. The architect’s estimate for this project was $250,000.00. Staff received six bids, with the lowest and best bid received from R&R Lawn Care and Landscapes, LLC in the amount of $197,972.00, which is 26 percent below the estimate. Renovations will include the installation of trees, shrubs, modifications to the existing irrigation system, French drain system, soil amendments, and turf seeding as per the attached approved landscape concept from the September 19, 2023 Council meeting, (Exhibit A). Recommendation Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid received from R&R Lawn Care and Landscaping LLC and found the bid to be the lowest and best bid. Staff is confident in the contractor’s ability to successfully perform the scope of this contract based on positive references and favorable performances for previous City projects.
