A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST
BID FOR THE SOUTH LANDSCAPE MAINTENANCE
PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES.
WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the South
Landscape Maintenance Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by Peabody
Landscape Group in the amount of $253,275.00 constitutes the lowest and
best bid: and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2009 Operating Budget project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The base bid submitted by Peabody Landscape Group in the
amount of $253,275.00 is hereby accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents
on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(x) of the Revised Charter.

RE: Resolution 86-08, South Landscape Maintenance Project
Memo
On Wednesday, November 19, 2008, the bids were open for the South Landscape Maintenance Project.
The funds for this project are included in the 2009 Operating Budget in the approximate amount of
$300,000.00. The base bid estimate for this project was $300,000.00.

This project consists of the weeding, mulching, bed edging, spraying pre-emergent and plant
maintenance, mowing, fertilizing and broadleaf weed control of rights-of--way, medians and green
spaces throughout the City of Dublin. Peabody Landscape, being confident in their bid has stated their
commitment to adhering to the scope of the contract.
The North Landscape Maintenance Project bid opening will be on December 3, 2008 and will be
brought to Council on January 5, 2009. The projects are staggered by two weeks with the intent to
promote more competitive pricing and more equitable distribution of work between competing
landscape service providers.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 86-08, accepting Peabody Landscape's base bid of
$253,275.00. Peabody Landscape has completed contract work for Parks & Open space and staff has
found their work to be satisfactory.
