A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST
BID FOR THE KENDALL RIDGE PARK DEVELOPMENT
PROJECT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER
TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SAID SERVICES.

WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been
conducted pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter for the Kendall
Ridge Park Development Project; and
WHEREAS, Council has determined that the base bid submitted by
Builderscape, Inc. in the amount of $268,713.00 constitutes the lowest and
best bid; and
WHEREAS, this is an approved 2008 Capital Improvements Project.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin,
State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring, that:
Section 1. The base bid submitted by Builderscape, Inc. in the amount of
$268,713.00 and bid alternate #1 in the amount of $59,500 are hereby
accepted.
Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for
said project as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid documents
on file in the Division of Parks & Open Space.
Section 3. This Resolution shall take effect and be in force upon passage in
accordance with Section 4.04(x) of the Revised Charter.

Memo
Summary
On Friday, October 31, 2008 the bids were opened for the Kendall Ridge Park Development Project.
The funds for this project are included in the 2008 Capital Improvements Program in the amount of
$386,000. The base bid estimate for this project was $286,716.15.
Seven (7) bids were received:

This project consists of all materials and labor necessary to install a playground, small shelter,
covered tables, basketball court, landscaping, specialty wet prairie seeding, bike path, sidewalks, site
amenities, and associated earthwork. Bid alternate #1 consists of poured in place playground safety
surfacing. Complete construction details are available for review in the Council Planning room.
Recommendation
Staff is recommending adoption of Resolution 82-08, accepting Builderscape Inc.'s base bid of
$268,713.00. Staff is also recommending the acceptance of bid alternate #1 addition in the amount of
$59,500.
Builderscape Inc. has done work for the City of Dublin in the past and staff has found their work to be
most satisfactory.
