Re: Resolution 08-20 Central Landscape Maintenance
Background
Memo
Funding for the Central Landscape Maintenance is included in the 2020 Operating
Budget. The previous North and South Landscape Maintenance contracts are now
being split into three separate contracts to include a Central Landscape Maintenance
contract. With the completion of a number of major developments within the Bridge
Park and Historic Downtown areas, Staff is implementing a more urban core focus for
the area.
This new contract area was bid with the understanding that the contractor is required
to provide a higher level of maintenance including more intensive weed control, litter
pick-up and plant replacements as needed. This is mainly due to the concentrated
citizen traffic associated with the bulk of the central contract area.
On November 20, 2019 bids were opened for this contract. Three (3) were received
with the lowest of these bids being $210,594.00 from the Environmental Management
Services Inc. which is below the overall budgeted amount. The bidders also provided
unit costs for any additional emergency repair work, mulching, or mowing as directed
by the City of Dublin to maintain the appropriate appearance levels.
