Home My WebLink AboutResolution 021-19RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank, Inc., Form No. 30045 Resolution No. 21-19 Passed , 20 A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE 2019 STREET MAINTENANCE PROGRAM — PHASE I WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the 2019 Street Maintenance Program — Phase I; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Kokosing Construction constitutes the lowest and best bid. NO , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, of its elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Kokosing Construction in the total amount of $2,689,443.50 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with Kokosing Construction for performance and completion of the 2019 Street Maintenance Program — Phase I pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and complete the Project. Section 4. A copy of the 2019 Street Maintenance Program — Phase I construction drawings has been placed in the Council Planning Room for your reference and review. The Engineer's estimate for this project is $2,900,,000. The budgeted funds for this Street Maintenanct Program — Phase I in the 2019-2023 Capital Improvement Program are $2,900,000 of the $6,000,000 total programmed in account AT191, Annual Street Maintenance Program. Kokosing Construction submitted the lowest and best bid of $2,689,443.50. Staff has reviewed all bids and a summary of the bids received is listed below. Additionally, Houchard Road and Hyland -Croy Road have been chosen for Cold In-place Recycling (CIR). CIR is the processing and treatment of existing asphalt pavements with bituminous and/or chemical additives without heating to produce a restored pavement layer. The road is topped with a surface course of asphalt in the traditional manner. Streets 'included for the 2019 Street Maintenance Program — Phase I: The 2019 program includes resurfacing on City streets as depicted on the attached City map. The streets to be improved are as follows: Houchard Rd.f Hyland -Croy Rd... Hanna Hills Dr., r, '' .and Rd., and Ashbaugh Rd. All work will be performed while maintaining traffic where possible with efforts being taken to minimize interruptions to motorists, provide access for emergency services, maintain access to 4-riveways and adjacent streets as much as possible, and consistently provide a safe work area for motorists and workers. q 11�'i��Iipii 111� 11111 �II III III Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid submitted by Kokosing Construction.
