HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 030-18RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank, Inc., Form No. 30045 Resolution No. 30-18 Passed A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE 2018 PEDESTRIAN TUNNEL MAINTENANCE PROJECT ,20 WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the 2018 Street Maintenance Program; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Sunesis Construction Co. constitutes the lowest and best bid. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, of its elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by Sunesis Construction Co. in the total amount of $408,965.23 is hereby accepted. Section 2. The City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with Sunesis Construction Co. for performance and completion of the 2018 Pedestrian Tunnel Maintenance Project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Resolution and complete the Project. Section 4. This Resolution shall take effect upon passage in accordance with Section 4.04(a) of the Revis Charter. Richardson, P,E,, P.S., Senior Civil Engineer Re: Resolution No, 30-18 — Bid Acceptance for 2018 Pedestrian Funnel Maintenance Project Summary On June 12, 2018, five (5) bids were received, publicly opened, and read by Engineering Staff for the 2018 Pedestrian Tunnel Maintenance project, The project on Memorial Drive, west of Kilbirnie Court and east of Dunniker Park Drive, involves the removal of the existing stone clad slopes at each entrance to the existing 108 -inch diameter tunnel, Once the existing stone is removed, a cast -in-place concrete retaining wall with stone veneer facing will be constructed at each tunnel entrance. For Council's reference and review, a reduced copy of the project construction drawings has been placed in the Council Planning Room, The Engineer's estimate is $435,000. The budgeted funds for the 2018 Pedestrian Tunnel Maintenance project in the 2018 Capital Improvement Program are $475,000 from account AT188, Annual Pedestrian Tunnel Maintenance, Sunesis Construction Co. submitted the lowest and best bid of $408,965.23. Staff has reviewed all bids and a summary of the bids received is listed below. Additionally, Memorial Drive will remain open to traffic for the duration of the construction, The completion date for the project is November 9, 2018. While Sunesis Construction Co. has not performed previous work for the City of Dublin, they are Ohio Department of Transportation pre -qualified for roadway construction and bridges, and have recently performed projects for The Ohio State University, References contacted have been favorable.
