HomeMy WebLinkAboutResolution 072-17RECORD OF RESOLUTIONS Dayton Legal Blank, Inc., Form No. 30045 Resolution No. 72 -17 Passed A RESOLUTION ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE CARDINAL HEALTH PARKING LOT AND SITE DEVELOPMENT PROJECT ,20 WHEREAS, formal advertising and competitive bidding procedures have been conducted, pursuant to Section 8.04 of the Dublin Charter and Chapter 37 of the Dublin Code, for the Cardinal Health Parking Lot and Site Development Project; and WHEREAS, Council has determined that the bid submitted by George J. Igel & Co., Inc. constitutes the lowest and best bid. NO , THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of Dublin, of its elected members concurring, that: Section 1. The bid submitted by George J. Igel & Co., Inc. in the total amount of $4,320,943.45 is hereby accepted. Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into contracts with George J. Igel & Co., Inc. for performance and completion of the Cardinal Health Parking Lot and Site Development Project pursuant to the Advertisement, Proposal and Contract Documents for said project on file in the office of the City Engineer. Section 3. This Council further hereby authorizes and directs the City Manager, the Director of Law, the Director of Finance, the Clerk of Council, or other appropriate officers of the City to prepare and sign all other agreements and instruments and to take any other actions as may be necessary to implement this Ordinance and complete the Project. Section 4. This Resolution shat take effect upon passage in accordance with Section 4,,04(a) of the Revised CKarter. The budgeted funds for the project in the 2017-2021 Capital Improvement Program are $2,800,000.00 from account ET1713, Parking Lot Construction — Cardinal Health EDA. George J. Igel & Co., Inc. submitted the lowest and best bid of $4,300,000.00. Igel & Co., Inc. $4f 320,943.45 +13.7% Trucco Construction Company $4f499,791.00 +18.4% Complete General Construction Company $4f 806,841.25 +26.50/0 Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid submitted by George 1. Igel & Co., Inc. Previous experience with George J. Igel & Company, Inc. has been more than favorable, including the construction of Emerald Parkway Phase 8 of the Hyland-Croy Road/Brand Road and Brand Road/Coffman Road roundabouts. The execution of their work has been exceptional with numerous activities necessary to perform the project being well planned, coordinated,, and executed, Staff recommends Council approve the bid and the project as a unique opportunity for both Cardinal Health and the City to finalize the incentives per the Economic Development Agreement, showcase SMART technology, and prepare the residual acres for future development. A combination of dollars saved from other capirai projects and potential repriontization/ timing of other projects not yet bid this year will enable the City to cover the additional costs. Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution No. 72-17 accepting as lowest and best the bid of George J.
