Staff has thoroughly reviewed the bid submitted by George 1. Igel & Co., Inc. Previous experience
with George J. Igel & Company, Inc. has been more than favorable, including the construction of
Emerald Parkway Phase 8 of the Hyland-Croy Road/Brand Road and Brand Road/Coffman Road
roundabouts. The execution of their work has been exceptional with numerous activities
necessary to perform the project being well planned, coordinated,, and executed,
Staff recommends Council approve the bid and the project as a unique opportunity for both
Cardinal Health and the City to finalize the incentives per the Economic Development Agreement,
showcase SMART technology, and prepare the residual acres for future development. A
combination of dollars saved from other capirai projects and potential repriontization/ timing of
other projects not yet bid this year will enable the City to cover the additional costs.
Staff recommends Council approval of Resolution No. 72-17 accepting as lowest and best the bid
of George J. Igel & Co.,, Inc. in the amount of $4,320,,943.45 and authorizing the City Manager to
enter into a contract with George 3. Igel &
