The plan calls for the removal and replacement of six inches of pavement on Monsarrat Drive.
Staff is evaluating the option of reducing this scope of work to milling and repaving the top 1 -1/4"
of asphalt which could potentially realize a savings of nearly $150,000. Finally, the project includes
a contingency for the soil stabilization of the Mid - Century neighborhood streets. If a proof roll of

the area shows that soil stabilization is not required, an additional $151,000 could potentially be
savedN The summation of these two potential scope changes could result in a reduction of
approximately ► 301,000 from the project cost.
A portion of this project includes the replacement of an existing 40-year old water main. Of the
$3,944,r741.20 bid, the water main component is $701,600. This amount will be funded by the
Water Fund. Staff will be evaluating as part of the 2018-2022 CIP options to reduce/postpone
capital expenditures in the upcoming years in order to minimize the impact of this unanticipated
