RE: Ordinance 79-05 -Franklin County Board of Health 2006 contract
SUMMARY:
Ordinance No. 79-05 authorizes the City Manager to enter into contract with the
Franklin County Board of Health (FCBH) for the provision of public health services for
2006. FCBH serves as the public health agency for the City, providing community
health services such as disease prevention and environmental health. The FCBH
establishes a per capita rate for all jurisdictions for which it provides these services; for
2006, the rate is $4,96. Given an estimated population of 37,500, the City's contract
amount for 2006 will total $186,446.40. This amount is budgeted within the City's 2006
Operating budget.
The present contract expires on December 31, 2005. To allow this contract to
commence on January 1, 2006, a motion to dispense with the public hearing and
passage of this ordinance as an emergency is requested.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff recommends approval of Ordinance No. 79-05, dispensing with the public
hearing and passing it as an emergency measure at the December 12, 2005 Council
meeting. This will allow for commencement of the contract on January 1, 2006.
