Mayor McCash called the Special Meeting of Dublin City Council of July 2, 2002 to order at
6:35 p.m.
Roll Call
r- Council members present were: Mayor McCash, Vice Mayor Boring, Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher,
Mr. Kranstuber, Mr. Lecklider, and Ms. Salay. (Mr. Reiner joined the meeting at 6:55 p.m.)
Mayor McCash noted that the only agenda item for tonight is an executive session for
personnel matters.
There were no comments from citizens.
Ms. Salay moved to adjourn to executive session at 6:40 p.m. for personnel matters.
Mr. Lecklider seconded the motion.
Vote on the motion: Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher, yes; Mrs. Boring, yes; Mr. Kranstuber, yes; Ms.
Salay, yes; Mr. Lecklider, yes; Mayor McCash, yes.
Mayor McCash stated that he anticipates that Council will reconvene following the
executive session.
Mrs. Boring asked if Dr. Kuhn, The PAR Group has talked with the Law Director in regard
to several issues which were raised.
Dr. Kuhn responded that he talked with Mr. Smith to obtain some general direction two
weeks ago.
Mayor McCash stated that Council mayor may not reconvene; he is not certain at this time.
The meeting was reconvened at 9:45 p.m.
Roll call was taken, and the following members were present: Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher, Mr.
Reiner, Mr. Kranstuber, Mr. Lecklider, Mrs. Boring, and Mayor McCash.
Mayor McCash stated that after thoroughly reviewing the qualifications of the two finalists,
the comments received from the public and from the staff, discussing Council members'
- impressions of the candidates and their fit within the community, and after thoughtful and
thorough deliberation, it is the consensus of City Council to direct the consultant to enter
into negotiations with Jane Brautigam of Loveland, Colorado to become the next City
Manager of Dublin, Ohio. To that end, he moved that the consultant be so directed.
Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher seconded the motion.
Vote on the motion: Mr. Reiner, yes; Mrs. Boring, yes; Mr. Lecklider, yes; Ms. Salay, yes;
Mr. Kranstuber, yes; Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher, yes; Mayor McCash, yes.
Mayor McCash announced that a Special Meeting of Dublin City Council will be scheduled
for Monday, July 8 at 6:30 p.m. with the intent of ratifying a contract for the City Manager.
Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher seconded the motion.
Mrs. Boring asked if an executive session for personnel matters will be scheduled at that
time to review the proposed contract prior to any vote.
Mayor McCash responded that this is his expectation.
Vote on the motion: Ms. Salay, yes; Mr. Lecklider, yes; Mayor McCash, yes; Ms. Chinnici-
Zuercher, yes; Mr. Reiner, yes; Mr. Kranstuber, yes; Mrs. Boring, yes.
Ms. Chinnici-Zuercher suggested that it would be appropriate for the Mayor to call Ms.
Grigsby, Ms. Puskarcik and Mr. Harding following the meeting to inform them of Council's
decision.
Mayor McCash agreed to do so.
Mr. Lecklider moved for adjournment.
Ms. Salay seconded the motion.
