AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING T1FIE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION PROJECT, AND
DECLARING AN EMERGENCY
WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bads on Tuesday, February 4, 2003 for the
Landscape Installation Project, Council has determined that the bid submitted by
Peabody Landscape Construction in the amount of $68,765.00 is the lowest and best bid
for the project; and
WHEREAS, this project is an approved 2003 CIP project; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
Section 1. That the bid submitted by Peabody Landscape Construction in the amount of
$68,765.00 for the Landscape Installation Project is hereby accepted.
Section 2. That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract for the
project as listed above, and as specified within the bid proposal and the City's bid
documents on file in the Division of Grounds and Facilities.
Section 3. That this ordinance is declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, he;~lth, safety or welfare, and for the further
reason that emergency action is needed to meet the timeframe specified within the bid.
The ordinance shall therefore be effective upon passage.

RE: Landscape Installation Project
SUMMARY:
On Tuesday, February 4, 2003 bids were opened for the .Landscape Installation Project. This
project was approved in the 2003 Operating Budget.
The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $94,000.00. Nine (9) bids were received.

1). Davey Commercial Grounds Maintenance $87,946.20
2). Peabody Landscape Construction $68,765.00
3). Reipenhoff Landscape $91,088.00
4). Avalawn Landscape ~ $99,325.25
5). Miller Pavement $77,329.80
6). Greenscapes Landscape Co. $79,461.00
7). Environmental Management Inc. $95,725.00
8). Urban Environments $122,644.00
9). Mid-West Landscape $140,261.00
This project consists of supplying and installing additional plant materials in various existing
beds within the City's Right-of--Ways and parks.
RECOMMENDATION:
Staff is recommending adoption of Ordinance 18--03, accepting Peabody Landscape
Construction's base bid of $68,765.00. We have previous experience with Peabody Landscape
Construction and have found their work to be satisfactory.
