Ordinance No.____ AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID FOR THE WELLINGTON PARK DEVELOPMENT PROJECT, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Wellington Park Development Project on August 4, 1997, Council has determined that the bid submitted by Miller Pavement Maintenance, Inc. in the amount of $295,100 for the base bid and three alternates is the lowest and best bid. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring: Section 1. That the bid submitted by Miller Pavement Maintenance, Inc. in the amount of $295,100.00 is hereby accepted. i n 2 That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Miller Pavement Maintenance, Inc. for completion of the park development project, pursuant to the bid specifications and documents on file in the office of the Grounds and Facilities division. i n That this ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary to ensure the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that the project needs to be completed before the onset of winter weather, and therefore shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage. The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $330,500.00. Two bids were received. 1). Miller Pavement Maintenance, Inc. $250,000.00 2). The Nadalin Co. 298,000.00 The project consists of tennis courts, bikepath, playground, landscaping and associated site amenities. Staff is recommending the acceptance of Miller Pavement Maintenance, Inc.'s base bid of $250,000.00, along with three bid alternates: 1). Color coat tennis basketball courts $8,500.00. 2). Additional landscape $19,100.00. 3). Fine grading and seeding $17,500.00. Total cost of these improvements is $295,100.00. 0
