AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE LOWEST AND BEST BID
FOR THE COFFMAN PARK SHELTERHOUSE/RESTROOM5,
AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY

WHEREAS, after advertising and receiving bids for the Coffman Pazk
Shelterhouse/Restrooms on Wednesday, November 26, 1997, Council has determined
that the base bid of $302,000.00 and bid alternate of a porch extension at $20,000.00
submitted by Paul Vlack Company, Inc. is the lowest and best bid; and
WHEREAS, the Coffman Pazk Shelterhouse/Restrooms project is an approved 1997
CIP project.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Dublin, State
of Ohio, ~ of the elected members concurring:
tion 1 • That the base bid and bid alternate for the porch extension in the amount of
$302,000.00 and $20,000.00 respectively, submitted by Paul Vlack Company, Inc. is
hereby accepted.
~,tion 22• That the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into a contract with Paul
Vlack Company, Inc. for completion of the project, pursuant to the bid specifications
and documents on file in the office of the Pazks Maintenance division.
tion 3• That this ordinance is declazed to be an emergency measure necessary for the
immediate preservation of the public peace, health, safety or welfare, and for the further
reason that the timeframes for completion of the project require emergency action.
Therefore, the ordinance shall be effective upon passage in accordance with Section 4.05
of the Revised Charter.

On November 26, 1997 at 10:00 a.m., bids were opened on the Coffman Park
Shelterhouse/Restrooms Project, an approved 1997 CIP. This is part of Phase I of the Coffman
Park Redevelopment Master Plan.
The publicly announced base bid was estimated at $300,000.00. Four bids were received.
1). Paul Vlack Company Inc. $302,000.00
2). Gutkneckt Construction 324,900.00
3). M & P Construction 340,000.00
4). The Righther Company 398,700.00
The project consists of a wood frame shelterhouse with restrooms, kitchenette, storage and
fireplaces. The exterior finish is similar to the Dublin Community Recreation Center.
Staff is recommending the acceptance of Paul Vlack Company Inc.'s base bid of $302,000.00, along
with one bid alternate: porch extension at $20,000.00.
Total cost of these improvements is $322,000.00.
